How Execution Adapts
This is how the Governed AI Control Plane works. We invented this architecture. This is what "governed AI" means, implemented.
Impulse → Schema → Logic → Signal → Evolution
That's not a pipeline. It's a living loop. Always on. Always yours to shape.
The Architecture That Addresses the Fear
When you connect AI to production systems, fear is legitimate. What if the AI does something wrong? What if it makes decisions without you?
This architecture was designed to address that fear directly. Every step includes a governance checkpoint. The system proposes. You decide.
The Five Stages
In OpenIndustrial, execution is a system you co-create - an active conversation between your intent, your structure, and Azi. You don't write code and wait for results. You define meaning, promote structure, and steer what runs.
1. Impulse
Data flows to the Control Plane from your connected sources.
What this means for governance: You control what data enters. No hidden harvesting.
2. Schema
Structure you own, AI can read. Schema promotion is the pivotal moment where observed structure becomes approved meaning.
Promotion isn't a config step - it's a teaching act. It's how you tell Azi: "This matters."
What this means for governance: The system only acts on structure you've confirmed.
3. Logic
Your rules, AI-executable. Schema-bound agents act on your behalf, in real-time, across data and systems.
What this means for governance: Logic is versioned, auditable, and yours to fork or revert.
4. Signal
This is the governance moment.
What this means for governance: Every proposed action queues for review. The audit trail is complete.
5. Evolution
The system learns from your approvals. Not from guessing. From confirmed intent.
What this means for governance: The system gets smarter within the boundaries you set.
Why This Architecture Enables "Fire Us, Keep Running"
This architecture is why the category exists. It's designed so you can walk away and keep what you built.
Every component is yours:
- Impulses flow to your Azure tenant
- Schemas are exportable definitions you own
- Logic is code you can take with you
- Signals are logged history you retain
- Evolution is captured in version history
Azi helps you build it. But the Control Plane runs without her.
The Four Surfaces
The execution loop operates across four surfaces:
| Surface | Role in the Loop | Governance Checkpoint |
|---|---|---|
| OBSERVE | Watches impulses, detects patterns | You control connections |
| PROPOSE | Generates signals from schema + logic | Every proposal queues |
| GOVERN | Queues proposals for your review | You approve or reject |
| QUERY | Translates natural language to action | All queries auditable |

What's Shipping vs. Category Evolution
| Concept | Status Today |
|---|---|
| Governance Loop | SHIPPED - See it working |
| Schema in Connections | SHIPPED - Create Connection |
| Signal via Proposals | SHIPPED - Working with Azi |
| Schema Promotion | Category evolution - Roadmap |
| Persistent Memory | Category evolution - Roadmap |
